Why traffic does not become inquiries
Factories do SEO and ads, get hundreds of visits, but few inquiries. The issue is often conversion design, not traffic quality.
B2B buyers decide rationally: within 30 seconds they judge if you are the right supplier and whether to inquire. Any hesitation, confusion, or missing entry point and they close the tab.
These 10 details are the most common issues across dozens of B2B sites we have audited.
10 conversion details
1. First screen explains who you are in 3 seconds
No empty slogans. State core products + audience + advantage: "Custom Steel Pipe & Fittings Manufacturer for Global Buyers | 15+ Years | ISO 9001."
2. Every page has a clear CTA
Do not only put forms on the contact page. Product, case, and news pages need prominent "Get a Quote" or "Send Inquiry" buttons above the fold and at the bottom.
3. Inquiry forms: fewer fields
Four fields for first contact: name, email, product, message. More fields reduce submissions. Gather details later by email.
4. Product pages: complete, structured
Specs table, applications, materials/certs, images, packaging, related products. Use H2/H3; no walls of text.
5. Real factory photos and videos
Workshop, equipment, warehouse, loading, team—real photos build trust fastest. A 1–2 minute factory video on the homepage or About page lifts confidence.
6. Certifications and customer cases
ISO, CE, API certs clearly shown. Cases: buyer, problem, solution, result. Logo walls help.
7. Fast website
Under 3 seconds on mobile. WebP images, CDN, trim scripts. Slow sites lose buyers before they see anything.
8. Mobile experience
Over half of B2B visits are mobile. Big buttons, readable text, easy forms. Test the full journey on your phone.
9. Clear language switch
Prominent switcher; translated content must match—no Chinese mixed into English pages.
10. Reduce buyer risk
Response commitment ("Reply within 24h"), sample policy, payment terms, after-sales. Answered concerns increase inquiry rate.

FAQ
Q: What is a normal B2B conversion rate?
A: 1–3% is typical (1–3 inquiries per 100 visits); 5% is excellent. Under 1% signals a clear problem.
Q: Should I add live chat popups?
A: Yes, but do not trigger on open. Show after 30 seconds or at the bottom, or keep a small icon for active clicks.
Q: How fast will changes show?
A: Immediate; visible data changes in 2–4 weeks. CRO is continuous testing, not a one-time fix.
